<para>The value of this parameter determines if
cross references using the <tag>link</tag> element in
printed output will
include standard page number citations.
It has three possible values.

for all <tag>link</tag> elements.

attribute is used.

<listitem><para>Page number references will not be generated
for a <tag>link</tag> element unless
it has an

attribute whose value specifies a page reference.

<para>Although the <tag>xrefstyle</tag> attribute
can be used to turn the page reference on or off, it cannot be
used to control the formatting of the page number as it
can in <tag>xref</tag>.
In <tag>link</tag> it will always format with
the style established by the
gentext template with <literal>name="page.citation"</literal>
in the <literal>l:context name="xref"</literal>.
